AFBAN expands Business Angel Culture across Africa

Mr. Yacine Laskri, President of the African Federation of Business Angels Networks (AFBAN), sheds light on the AFBAN’s ongoing efforts to foster and expand the business angel culture across the continent.

He emphasizes the importance of strengthening networking and collaboration among stakeholders throughout Africa.

In terms of sectoral opportunities, AFBAN’s president points to healthcare and agribusiness as particularly promising areas for investment, given their relevance and growth potential in Africa.

 He stresses the transformative role that artificial intelligence can play in the startup ecosystem, particularly in testing business models and scenarios more efficiently, thereby saving time and enhancing decision-making.

Mr. Laskri also praises Algeria’s unique and robust support system for startups, noting that the level of assistance provided by the government is rarely seen elsewhere in the world.
