Ms. Elisabeth Gager, the director of the energy portfolio at GIZ Algeria, emphasizes that the Taqathy+ project focuses on renewable energies, with a particular emphasis on developing a new hydrogen market.

She says the Taqathy+ initiative aims to support Algeria’s transition towards cleaner energy sources and position the country as a key player in the emerging Green Hydrogen sector.

Taqathy+ aligns closely with Algeria’s national strategy to expand renewable energy capacity by leveraging Germany’s knowledge and capacity building in renewable energy technologies.

Our Guest stresses that collaboration between Algeria, Germany, and broader Europe is vital for advancing decarbonization goals, promoting sustainable development, and establishing a resilient, low-carbon energy future for the region.
