Interview with Ms.Fatima Kyari Mohammed, the Permanent Observer of the AU to the UN

On the sidelines of the High-level seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, Ms. Fatima Kyari highlighted the importance of the seminar in terms of strenghthening coordination between the African members to the UN security Council and the members of the AU Peace and Security Council.
She said one of the major challenges facing the continent was terrorism, the reason why AU representatives for several years pushed for passing resolution 2719 (which was adopted by UNSC in December 2023).
The Permanent Observer of the AU to the UN reiterated the importance of reforming the UN Security Council and granting Africa a permanent seat.
